Morgan & Katie:Engagement

Some nights out are Ok, some are fab, and some are the kind you meet the man your one day going to marry.Katie experienced the latter. On a night out with friends she saw Morgan, she approached him, they talked and went their separate ways. A few months later fate had them meet again. This time Morgan approached Katie, they talked, but since have not gone their separate ways.  They are living life together, and will next week seal their love with I DO!

I met Morgan and Katie for the engagement session at the stables where Katie keeps Rimmy. We were keeping our fingers crossed for nice weather and it didn’t disappoint. Being at the stables we were able to get Rimmy in a few shots as well, who wasn’t t0o keen to be photographed, but then warmed up for a couple (with the promise of an apple).

When you get around Morgan and Katie, you can see why they are together. Why they are getting married. They melt into one another with ease, their laughter comes naturally and they take darn good photographs! I am SO excited to be documenting their wedding in one week, I know its going to be phenomenal ;-) x

Happy Friday x

Travelling with friends, ice cream, parasols and penny-farthings.

Packing a case, stepping onto the plane and travelling makes me happy. I love going anywhere. Last month we took to Barcelona for a few days and I’d forgotten  how much I loved this city. The architecture, the beach – the sun! Getting away into the sunshine for a few days was soooo good. I swapped my emergency umbrella for sun cream and enjoyed soaking up the city. We shared an apartment with some friends  and  were in the perfect spot, right next to the Las Ramblas.

Whilst waiting for our friends me and Jim nipped into a local trendy ale house to sample some local delights.

We started our break with a walk around the marina. We stopped off for a wine refresher in a cute little cafe. Soaking up the rays and people watching.

The plan for our first night was to go to a closing party on the beach for the Sonar festival. On the way we nipped into Shoko ( a great restaurant/bar), then proceeded to walk down the beach until we found the party beach!

The second day was dubbed culture day. We hit the sights and walked the city. It was so nice to just take a relaxing stroll through the streets, reconfirming why its still  one of my favourite cites in the world. First up was the Park Guell.  The attention to detail in this place is unbelievable, and it gives such a great view of the city.

The next stop was to be the Cathedral – Sagrada Familia, and as we walked down a quaint street there was this man, sat, playing his violin. It sounded like he was telling his whole life story through his strings…

You walk into the Cathedral and your stunned. Its pretty special from the outside but  inside is something else. My pictures definitely  don’t do it justice but I just needed something to help me remember. We took a walk up one of the spires, where you ended being pretty high! There are small openings where you get to look out over the city, which are really cool, but at the same time make you feel an insi bit weird being so high up and in the open.

The beach! The first time I came to Barcelona I didn’t hit the beach, but I didn’t make that mistake twice. Ohh no.

Now, this is where the trip steps up a level. Vioko. A boutique ice cream parlour. One word - amazing. Anyone who knows me well, knows that anytime is gelato time.  I was close to  throwing a  Veronica Salt, I wanted it all, and I wanted it now!

On our last day we decided to head off on a bike ride. We covered about 14 miles in total, and cycled along the side of the beach. Quite a normal thing to do but our friend Tom however decided to make the journey more entertaining by hiring a Penny Farthing…. Here’s Jim showing off his drivingSH skills.

We partied hard the night before and even though the bike ride and sea breeze was helping me shake off a sore head you can imagine my happiness when we stopped her for lunch and a cheeky siesta!

I love seeing parasols next to a clear blue sky…

So there it is, my mini break to Barcelona.Travelling with friends is fun, something I definitely want to do more of! A long post I know, but with all this Summer rain I feel a lot better for sharing.

Happy Tuesday.

Happy Tuesdays.

Homemade Crumble

At home Im definitely the cook, not to say Jim doesn’t, but its definitely more me. Since about last October we have been trying to live the Jamie Oliver dream and growing some of our own food. Or at least trying to. We planted potatoes, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, strawberries, garlic, onions, herbs, peas and rhubarb. The idea of growing your own is a lot sweeter than the reality. It’s hard work to get the soil good and make the time to tend your crops. But, my favourite the trusty Rhubarb (along with Rosemary and Mint) take care of the gard work for you and just grow. On their own. These are the kind of crops I like to work with.

So, the other day I made our first meal with ingredients from the allotment.Good Ol’ Rhubarb Crumble! I gave it a tasty little twist with a crushed almond and coconut topping. T.A.S.T.Y

Mayur and Melanie

At their reception was the first time that we were going to meet. We had spoken via e-mail, but I had never seen or met them before that night. But, I was quick to find out that it didn’t matter. Mayur and Mel welcomed me to their reception as if I had known them for years, I mingled with guests, enjoyed their evening and had a few goes on the dance floor (all whilst snapping away of course!).

The reception was held at The Lakeside at Roundhay Park. A place I go to quite regularly  when walking round the lake, but I have never been in the evening and the transformation is fab. It is such a beautiful view over the lake.

The reception was Mayur and Mel’s third celebration. They married in Vegas, had another blessing in India and then a reception here in Leeds. And these guys know how to throw a good party! Before the evening got underway, we had a few minutes together to get some pictures of the family and bridal party. Because, you know that when ladies are wearing Pronovias dresses, and rocking them,we want to get some of that love!

Mayur and Mel, thank you for being so fabulous. Thank you for an evening of style and fun! But most of all, thank you for letting me document a piece of your love.

Much love, Natasha x

Replaced pride and life.

I sat there with my eyes closed trying to think of anything that would distract me from the noise that was being made in my mouth. It sounded like my dad’s drill was being used!I used to pride my self on having no problems with my teeth. Now, in place of my pride I have  two fillings. When  I came home from the Dentist yesterday I felt like my mouth was the size of a ballon, I had been anesthetised - twice. I couldn’t speak with out a slur and for the following 5 hours I couldn’t eat or drink. A great way to spend your Tuesday! But thats life, in the next few days i’ll forget the awful feeling in my mouth, will be able to eat again like an adult and will probably laugh about it.

I thought I would leave you with a few snaps of life of late via my Iphone.. I’m loving having some fun with Instagram.

Happy Wednesday.. xx

Richard and Jo Engagement session; St Ives

Richard and Jo are two of the nicest people I’ve met. My friend Fran passed my name onto them, and I’m so glad that she did! As we walked around St Ives  Richard and Jo allowed me to document them. Their love and the way there are.Together. They have such a natural way with each other, like their know each other completely.

The weather was good to us and give us a dry day with soft light. We walked around together creating a plan for the wedding day, and every now and again we stopped for a picture. I can’t express how much I love it when couples get comfortable in front of the lens. And after the first couple of frames were taken these  fell completely into comfortable mode.

Richard and Jo, thank you so much for a fab day, I cant wait for your wedding! Here are a few faves from the session. x
