Trash the dress part 2.

Last week I showcased the 1st part of the Trash the dress. The 1st part was the pretty part before we actually trashed the dress. Here is the 2nd part..

This shoot was so much fun and I think these pictures really show it. I dont know if Kia is laughing with me or at me in the pictures.. ;-) As the shoot an the style was looking more distressed we decided to let her hair go the same way. You will notice that a few shots are in a diferrent tone, i dont usually do this but I kind of like the feel and mood that is adds.

Again, the hair was done by the fabulous Amanda of Ahead of Dexterity. Kia – thank you again for being such  good fun!! x

Happy monday. x

Amazing days.

Some days are good, others are better and some are amazing. Yesterday was the latter. Yesterday my new baby nephew Elijah was born. He is one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. I am so proud and happy for my sister and her husband. Of course, when they are back from hospital and he has a few days to settle we will be giving him 1st real photoshoot. But, here are just a few  of him about 6 hours old. Ohhh I love him so much already…  xx

Sewing sessions.

The saturday just gone I attended a workshop. Not of the photography kind but of the  sewing kind. Sewing Sessions to be exact. They are in the process of getting fabulous new site and just a few more images were needed, so I went on the course. The session last’s 6 hours, so you really get your monies worth and its run by mother and daughter team Pauline and Jessica. The course that I was on was a complete beginners. Taking you through  how to get  your machine up and ready to the basic stitches, how to use patterns and what needles to use. Through the course of the day I learnt  practical tools on how to get the basics right – making the rest easier. I walked away from the  class with a folder full of handouts and actual samples we had made so we could remind ourselves of the process after. And above all it was fun and totally relaxed – making it  easier to ask for help with out feeling daft. So, here a few snaps of the day….

Trash the dress.Part 1.

If you don’t like looking at  lots of pretty pictures, I would probably look away now.

Last week I went on my first ever trash the dress shoot. It was a lot of fun and we really did end up trashing the gown, I genuinely felt quite bad afterwards. But,we did have a fab time doing it! ;-) Kia wanted something rural, muddy and messy. So, I went on a recce to my local woods. I have shot in here before but looked for new ways of using the space – which isn’t hard because it’s just so beautiful. For this particular shoot I really wanted to pre-visualize  where to be, and how I wanted my model to look. And looking through the pictures im happy, because I saw bits of my imagination come to life. But, to get the angles that I wanted at some point I was going to have to get in the mud and the water myself, slightly nerve-racking with a full bag of equipment with you.. one slip was all it needed. But, no falls – just beautiful images.

Kia was an amazing model, really! The hair was done by the amazing Amanda from Ahead of Dexterity. This lady is super talented. Seriously.

This is PART 1. There are so many images I thought it needed breaking down, so I will post the ‘trashing‘ part later this week. So make sure you come back to check it out…
