Room with a view.

Trying to split a room into a dressing room, come spare room, come office can be sometime quite a challange. But, at the moment I sit in the corner and work, with walls dressed in fashion magazine pullouts. My inspiration. I sit in what is essentially a giant mood board. And as much as i love my little office, come spare room, come dressing room  when I pulled round the corner to see this view, I thought that maybe I could swap my fashion covered walls for this. A view of  crystal blue sea. Well, for a few days at least!

Happy Wednesday.

Tina and Richard are such a lovely couple. I joined them and baby Harry last saturday for some fun in the park. Harry is the sweetest little boy… I don’t think he was too sure what to make of me! With his Grandma on standby we were able to capture some family pictures and some lovely couple shots as well. I am really looking forward to their wedding at the crab and lobster next month!

The new lodger.

After thinking about it – seriously – we knew that it was never really going to work. But,  he was just too cute to say no. ( A running theme here) So, just under 2 weeks ago, we picked him up from his house and drove him to ours whilst his real owners are on holiday. The boys didn’t think it was the best decision we have ever made to say the least……. Say hello to our new temporary lodger – Jonesy!

Asa and Lee-Anne + bump.

I have known her for 26 years now. We havent always seen eye to eye, but I know that we have laughed are shared good times, a lot more than we have  ever argued and fallen out. She is one of my best friends.she is beautiful- she is my sister. This shoot was one of my favourites, maybe its because we laughed the whole time, or the fact that they both look so good, or the simple fact that I can give them some memories to keep. Pictures of them. Just the two of them -before their new bundle arrives. I am soooo excited about the arrival of this baby. I know whether boy or girl, this baby is going to be beautiful.

Lee-Anne & Asa enjoy this time  that you have together. Soon, things are going to be very different.. xxxx

Jessica & Jasmine.

These two girls are adorable. They have such lovely personalities and as you can see are beautiful. People say don’t work with animals and children –  this week I ignored the advice.

We took to outdoors with Jessica and Jasmine and not forgetting Buster. The family dog ;-)

When working with children  it is always best to get them in an environment that they are comfortable with and also in clothes that they feel good in. Children like to run and play, so clothes that allow them to do that comfortably definitely work best. Oh and a pop of colour. Colourful clothing on kids works perfect in my opinion.

I advised Sally that it might be best to get some baking equipment in for Jessica should the weather turn miserable. This is a great distraction for kids and allows me to get   relaxed portraits of them having some fun. Even though the weather didn’t turn bad for us we decided to go bake some buns anyway…

Jason and Jessica. Friern Manor Wedding.

Their day was always going to be amazing, regardless of the weather, location or details. But, when I walked into the Bridal room at the Friern Manor with the sun shining through the windows, a couture gown hanging and Vivienne Westwood heels waiting, I know that über Fabulous it was going to be!

Jason and Jessica have an easy love. It’s a natural fit. Its meant to be! I was beyond thrilled to be able to document this day. x

Jason was definitely dressed to impress in his military number ones!

Jessica’s brother made this gorgeous gown. It was simply stunning.. and a drop waist.. beautiful!

The necklace was Jessica’s mothers, and it matched the dress perfectly. And the shoes.. ah I swoon!

It’s the way he looks at her…….

This is a happy – Loved up – Mr & Mrs!

Jessica, you are beautiful.

After the first dance a little outfit change was had…. Another couture dress by her brother…

Buffalo heels

After every payment, which was weekly I put a section away for them. Knowing that it would take me a couple of months. But I wanted them so bad, I was willing to wait. I had to. Every time I would go Leeds I would go into the shop, just to look at them.Again and  make sure they were still there. I’m not quite sure where I   thought they were going. Looking back now, the Buffalo shoes were a style disaster( yes, I am referring to the same kind the spice girls wore)…  I am pretty sure that yesterdays purchase will be a better one!

Its taken a long time. But I am oh so happy…

Just a note to say…

I remember seeing her for the first time. We had arranged to meet at Patisserie Valerie, it was kind of like a blind date, in a weird way! I stood at the counter and  ordered drinks, she stood a few people down in the que with her mum. At the time however we didn’t know how each other looked,so i  was staring in a ‘are you here to meet a photographer‘ kind of stare. I lowered my bags holding wedding albums to give a hint, and after a nervous question  of identity we laughed, felt relieved and sat down for coffee and green tea.

Shortly after our meeting,I was booked. I was  happy,so happy i popped a bottle of bubbly. You see this was the first booking that I had from an outsider, someone who didnt already know me. But someone who saw in me potential. And for this I am more grateful than you know.

When I met with Lee and Michelle today it was like meeting old friends. Not just clients. As we parted Michelle gave me a thank you card.. But really Michelle, I would like to Thank you. x
